Flying With Kids Can Change Some Plans

The planned trip to Disneyland faced multiple setbacks due to the children's illnesses and inclement weather. After overcoming various challenges during travel, including fever and rough flying conditions, the family ultimately missed Disneyland again. The experience taught the importance of prioritizing health and flexibility in planning. Future trips will be scheduled only when everyone is well.

RV10 Summer Outings

The summer has been enjoyable, despite busy work schedules. Highlights included a canceled trip to Three Forks due to severe weather, followed by a successful journey to Oshkosh with a friend. Family day trips to Invermere and Crawford Bay provided fun swimming and beach experiences, showcasing the joy of flying and adventure together.

Oshkosh Primer

As a pilot, I'm excited to return to Oshkosh for the 2011 event after attending multiple times since 1992. Our group plans a similar expedition to 2008's, departing July 22. Despite the complexities of arrival procedures, they are manageable. I invite fellow club members to join for this enjoyable trip, requiring over a week’s vacation.

Goose Bumps

On November 2, 1947, Howard Hughes demonstrated the Spruce Goose's flight, changing aviation history. Inspired by this, I pursued my dream of flying, leading to my first solo flight on December 5, 1980. Recently, I ventured on a cross-country trip to see the Spruce Goose, enhancing my confidence and passion for flying.

CAVU Dreams (2010-09)

Over the past year, the author enjoyed various mountain flying adventures, culminating in an impromptu trip to Ram Falls with fellow pilots. They tackled challenges like an elevated airstrip with crosswinds but successfully landed. After exploring the park, they returned to Carstairs, reflecting on a memorable flying day. Next meeting is September 9th.

Vegas Trip

After much planning and delays, a family flew their RV-10 from Canada to Las Vegas, finally enjoying a warm vacation. They faced weather challenges but successfully navigated to various destinations, including the Grand Canyon. The trip included a private wedding and enjoyable family time, highlighting the efficiency and performance of their aircraft.
