As the year ends, the author reflects on enjoyable flying experiences, including a recent trip to the Vulcan RCAF airfield. In October, I participated in the COPA for Kids Day, successfully flying 47 children despite cold and snowy weather. I appreciate the volunteers who made the event possible. Additionally, upcoming elections for club positions will be held in December, and membership renewals are due. November's guest speaker will discuss WW2 "Nose Art."

Warmer weather has arrived, but colder temperatures are expected. The C-120 is undergoing an unexpected major overhaul due to an oil leak and discoveries during maintenance. The Calgary Recreational and Ultralight Flying Club is holding an annual raffle and banquet soon. Members are encouraged to pay dues and attend upcoming events.
As summer approaches, flying opportunities may increase despite rainy weather. Visits to the aircraft carrier Midway highlight its impressive size. Upcoming meetings feature a fiberglass repair demonstration and raffle ticket sales. However, COPA's affiliation with the Young Eagles program has been suspended pending a new agreement, halting organized introductory flights.
The new President expresses gratitude for the opportunity to serve and reflects on his 13 years of flying experience, emphasizing the value of the club atmosphere. He acknowledges past leaders’ contributions, announces upcoming events, and highlights efforts to reduce expenses, including transitioning to digital communications for the Skywriter. Members are encouraged to engage actively.
March brings lingering cold weather, but flying trips are underway. The successful annual banquet had 57 attendees, thanks to Dave Procyshen. Last chance for raffle tickets before the March 12th draw. Upcoming events include the annual rust remover on April 4th and presentations on seatbelt design and a Rotax 912 engine.
