Zenair 250 Upgrades

Carl Forman enlisted help with wiring his RV9, incorporating advanced electronics and an autopilot. The author details upgrades to their Zenair 250, sharing insights on propeller choices, radios, and navigation aids. Valuable additions included a cell/MP3 interface and engine monitor, demonstrating the importance of optimal performance and safety in aviation.

Night Rating

Goose Bumps

On November 2, 1947, Howard Hughes demonstrated the Spruce Goose's flight, changing aviation history. Inspired by this, I pursued my dream of flying, leading to my first solo flight on December 5, 1980. Recently, I ventured on a cross-country trip to see the Spruce Goose, enhancing my confidence and passion for flying.

From the Cockpit (2010-10)

As fall arrives, flying enthusiasts seek to maximize airtime before winter. Recent flights to the Vulcan airbase highlight the importance of flexibility and using weather resources effectively. In the 2010 Air Adventure Tour, the author aimed to visit Arlington, departing from Vancouver. A solo flight along the Pacific coast led to encounters with fog and the Olympic Mountains, resulting in a headache from a steep descent. Despite fewer attendees at Arlington, the experience was enjoyable, fueling excitement for Oshkosh 2011.
