CAVU Dreams (2010-09)

Over the past year, the author enjoyed various mountain flying adventures, culminating in an impromptu trip to Ram Falls with fellow pilots. They tackled challenges like an elevated airstrip with crosswinds but successfully landed. After exploring the park, they returned to Carstairs, reflecting on a memorable flying day. Next meeting is September 9th.

From The Cockpit (2010-02)

The new president expresses gratitude for the role and emphasizes a collaborative approach to enhance club membership and activities. A revamped website is introduced, aiming to attract new members and showcase the club's enthusiasm for flying. The president aspires to create a television ultralight program and appreciates outgoing executives for their contributions.

The COPA for Kids event is canceled due to inclement weather. Recent enjoyable flights occurred in September, including a trip to Rocky Mountain House. Upcoming club elections are in December. The successful COPA convention had over 180 planes and 140 volunteers. Guest speakers for the October meeting will discuss their missionary flying in Africa.

Oshkosh Abbreviated

After three years, the author visits Oshkosh with Carl Forman, opting for a rented place in Waupaca instead of camping. While Carl succeeds in finding avionics, the author fails to locate the Thatcher CX4 and purchase a Zulu headset due to pricing issues. Overall, the trip was enjoyable but less crowded than in previous years.
