From the Cockpit (2014-02)

The author is tasked to write a monthly "From the Cockpit" column for the Skywriter newsletter. He reflects on his journey from aspiring fighter pilot to becoming a Canadian citizen and aircraft owner. From the Cockpit (2011-09)

The summer passed quickly and was filled with exciting flying events. As regular meetings resume, there is anticipation for sharing summer adventures and enjoying the favorable autumn flying weather. The speaker is eager to provide educational talks and seeks member feedback on future events, encouraging participation from all involved.

To Vulcan Again!

Each year, COPA flights from Calgary and Lethbridge gather for breakfast in Vulcan, fostering connections among pilots. This year's event on August 19th saw 24 planes and about 36 attendees, including the youngest member, Emma. The tradition continues to grow, enhancing camaraderie and providing a fun reason to fly.

CAVU Dreams (2006-03)

In a busy month, the author managed home renovations and aircraft upgrades, including work on a Cessna 150. After successfully retrieving a salvaged plane in Florida with his father, they encountered delays and icy conditions. The trip proved worthwhile, yielding a core engine and quality parts for future projects, costing $4,000 less than anticipated.
