In the late 80s, Wayne Winters offered ultralight training with a Merlin aircraft. Ultralights weigh up to 1300 lbs and are costly. In the USA, they require no license, but in Canada, an Ultralight Pilot Permit is necessary. The narrator bought a Cessna 172 without any permits or experience and later obtained a Private Pilot License. They eventually sold the aircraft and assembled a Rans S-12, finding it more enjoyable. The reemergence of Cessna production led to a substantial increase in used aircraft prices.

On July 4, 2015, Rob Jaap and I flew from Innisfail to Forestburg, where we met Sven Bernard, a Swiss ex-paratrooper working to develop the airfield. We explored the site and witnessed Rob mastering wing control. Encountering smoke on the return, we reported visibility issues but landed safely back at Innisfail.
The flight from Fullerton to San Diego was scenic, navigating busy airspace and following instructions from SoCal approach. The journey included staying clear of restricted airspace, taking photos of the flower fields in Carlsbad, and landing smoothly at Montgomery Field. The trip, which continues to the beach and northward, has been an excellent experience so far.
Troy Branch arrived in Bathurst after a scenic flight along Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence, overcoming weather challenges. They made a quick fuel stop in Trois Rivière and successfully navigated unstable air mass and thunderstorms to reach their destination. The family greeted them, and they look forward to beach and lake time before heading to Moncton.

After landing for a break in Linden, they faced strong winds but continued their journey, logging 3.5 hours of flight time.
The Nelson fly-in breakfast trip involved a logistical challenge due to uncertain weather conditions. After evaluating the forecast, the author and Ken Beanlands decided to proceed. They flew successfully through turbulent conditions, enjoyed the breakfast, and returned home smoothly, marking a memorable mountain flying experience for Ken's 40th birthday.
