CAVU Dreams (2010-08)

In the 2010 Air Adventure Tour, the author aimed to visit Arlington, departing from Vancouver. A solo flight along the Pacific coast led to encounters with fog and the Olympic Mountains, resulting in a headache from a steep descent. Despite fewer attendees at Arlington, the experience was enjoyable, fueling excitement for Oshkosh 2011.

CAVU Dreams (2010-06)

May was disappointing for flying, but the author enjoyed a weekend with favorable weather, flying with a neighbor and his wife to an annual breakfast. After performing an annual inspection on his plane, he plans to add a spinner for dynamic balance, which can reduce vibrations and enhance engine performance.

My Mark IV Avid Flyer

After two years and 349.8 hours, my Avid aircraft project is nearly complete, awaiting inspection. I share my challenges, from acquiring parts, which were often difficult, to constructing components in my unheated garage. While Aircraft Spruce's service was disappointing, I ultimately succeeded in assembly and engine installation. Performance figures will follow post-flight.

CAVU Dreams (2008-04)

Excitement is buzzing among members upgrading to faster, sleeker aircraft, with several new planes at the horizon, like Pat’s Cessna 120 and Troy’s RV-10. The club is evolving, and plans for this summer's Oshkosh are underway. School is also thriving, with interesting studies on fuel injection and propeller mechanics.

The post announces plans for the upcoming year, thanking participants from a December meeting survey. Key findings include Clark Seaborn as a memorable speaker and interests in building projects and aviation topics. The next meeting at the SAIT hangar will include a tour, raffle prizes, and elections. Membership renewals are encouraged.

Winter has arrived with temperatures dropping below -20°C. Despite the cold, impressive aviation activities occurred, especially at Linden airstrip, where local groups organized flights and a Young Eagles day. Plans are underway to upgrade the airstrip, including burying power lines and relocating it, with community support and funding.

October was a month of contrasting experiences in aviation, featuring beautiful weather and exciting events like the Airbus A380's inaugural flight. However, the month also had a tragic side, with several light aircraft accidents, sparking media frenzy. Despite this, personal flying adventures and community events continued to thrive among aviation enthusiasts.
