Completion of the Carbon Cub EX2

In August 2015, I began building my Carbon Cub EX2 kit, encountering part shortages and quality issues. Despite the challenges, including paint contamination and scheduling setbacks, I invested 1000 hours over 10.5 months. After successful test flights in varied conditions, I found the aircraft enjoyable and a great addition to my flying repertoire.

From the Cockpit (2013-07)

The Chestermere/Kirkby fly-in occurred despite the author's plane being unfinished. Breakfast was enjoyable, and participants received Canada Flight Supplement books. The author moved the Buzzard to their hangar, started working on a KitFox project, and prepared for further assembly. A recent burger meeting was successful, raising funds for the Freedom to Fly Fund.

This year marked a significant journey for the author as they reflect on achievements, speaker engagements, and flying experiences with their new Avid Speed Wing. Despite challenges like magneto issues, they enjoyed community events and personal milestones. The author expresses gratitude for support and looks forward to future flying adventures.

CAVU Dreams (2012-02)

In February, unusually warm weather allowed for fantastic flying conditions. Pilots, including the author, took advantage of the weekend to explore, with one flight leading to a lake landing at Red Deer Lake. After repairing a navigation light and enjoying lunch, the author successfully navigated the landing despite initial challenges, returning home thrilled.
