This summer, the author visited Europe with his family, primarily to see friends in Norway. They attended the Duxford Air Museum and the spectacular Flying Legends Air Show, featuring numerous WWII aircraft. The experience was remarkable, filled with fascinating displays and impressive aerial performances, making it an unforgettable highlight of their trip.
July proved to be an exceptional month for aviation as pleasant weather enabled club members to embark on extended trips, including visits to Oshkosh and Cold Lake for airshows. Various local flying events gathered strong attendance, showcasing cooperation among members, and resulting in memorable flying experiences despite some challenges, promising a vibrant September ahead.
August has not started well for flying, with only one flight last month for maintenance checks. Despite this, there are upcoming events, including a Fly-in breakfast on August 29 and a successful COPA convention in July. Elections for President, Treasurer, and Director are approaching in December, with meetings resuming on September 10.

The installation of an Artex ME406 ELT in the Christavia was completed successfully. There won’t be club meetings in July and August, resuming on September 11th.

Despite strong winds, Bob Kirkby's breakfast on July 4th was enjoyable. Members are encouraged to volunteer for the upcoming COPA convention and contribute articles about club activities.
The author recently began working at Klarenbach Aviation, a small aircraft maintenance company, and has enjoyed diverse tasks on various aircraft. The Cessna 120 has resumed flights after receiving its Limited STC. Notable flights included the Poker Run and a breakfast event in Camrose, with over 1000 meals served. Emphasis on following flying protocols was highlighted due to busy traffic conditions. Upcoming events include a meeting with a skydiving guest speaker and a fly-out planned for June 14th.

This month has been a significant milestone, marking my completion of AME school after transitioning from a job at Encana. Despite the tough job market, I secured a position at Klarenbach Aviation. I also enjoyed flights and family projects, culminating in a successful Mother's Day Fly-in Breakfast with record attendance.
As May begins, a busy summer of flying events is anticipated, encouraging attendance to support hosts. An experiment from Myth Busters tested if an ultralight could take off on a moving conveyor belt, promising intriguing results. Lastly, gratitude is expressed to event organizers and an invitation is extended for the May meeting featuring a guest speaker.
