In 1991, the author chose a Rotax 582 engine for their Kitfox aircraft due to its lower cost. A memorable flight included taking their father on his first airplane ride. After building a second Kitfox and flying in formation with his son on his 80th birthday, the author embarked on a project to convert a Yamaha Phazer engine, encountering challenges but ultimately achieving success after 18 months.
