Sitting in my hotel room, I am reminded how important aviation is in our everyday lives. After parking on the Trans-Canada Highway near Abbotsford, I begin to wish I had flown. I feel trapped and alien with red and white license plates in a sea of white and blue ones. I take pleasure and relief knowing I will be taking in the annual airshow and meeting fellow aviators as well.
Why wouldn’t anyone want to get into aviation and flying? I often ask myself. I think the answer is pretty straightforward, but I would personally sum it up in one word: ADVENTURE!
The entire summer of 2011 has been an aviation adventure by choice for me, and I find that I never tire of it. I hope our members have had a fun-filled flying summer after the long winter. In fact, I know some of you have! I look forward to our next meeting on the second Thursday in September, as I can hardly wait to share and hear about all the flying adventures, we all have had.
Looking forward to the remainder of the year, I will be seeking out interesting speakers to attend our meetings. In closing, I look forward to seeing you all again, and in the meantime… Stay safe, have fun, and take along a friend!
